Mitsuro Hikime comes from the words:

mitsu ~ honey • ro ~ wax • hiki ~ stretch • me ~ texture

It's an ancient technique that uses a wax made with a mixture of beeswax and pine resin.

This wax can be stretched to make beautiful textures and unique wax sculptures.

Those sculptures are then casted in solid sterling silver. No molds are made, you’ll get a one of a kind ring.

Please take into account that due to the organic nature of this technique the textures vary and are also on the inside part of the ring.

The ring fit can be slighly different depending on the side you put it on, I have taken this into account when I measured its size.

The size marked is the smaller side, so they might be ever so slightly bigger on one side.

It was with the artist Miyata Kohei that this ancient form of art became more known in the XX century and I feel very blessed to be able to bring it to you in ring form, it has been the most wonderful journey to learn the Art of Mitsuro Hikime.

All the sterling silver items I create are tested, hallmarked and certified at the assay offices of Imprensa Nacional da Casa da Moeda
