The Moon - Necklace - Made to Order

Celestial themes were very common throughout our history, but there was a time (which I love) where jewelry was filled with stars and moons motifs. Can you guess which era it was ? My beloved XIX century. I won’t say late Victorian since that would only refer to England and I’m a pedantic Art Historian. 

This is my version of a art nouveau inspired moon pendant, featuring millegrain texture and faux silver pearls.

And what does the Moon represent for me?

I’ve always seen it has a feminine force, stern and soft; commanding not only the waves but also the hearts of the most sensitive.

A gentle reminder we can be fierce but kind at the same time. That we can shine even in the darkest night.

The moon also has phases, which also is a parallel to our lives. There will always be dark times, but they soon are replaced with good times. Nothing prevails and there’s beauty in it. In the cycle of the moon, and of life.

May the Moon soothe your soul and always remind you she’s always by your side, even when you don’t see her.
